The Serengeti Wildebeest Migration is an immense annual trek of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles between Tanzania and Kenya. They give birth to their offspring from January to March, lured by the promise of rain to the lush grasslands of Masai Mara. Along their journey, they confront constant threats from predators. Come July, they face the perilous Mara and Talek rivers, infested with Nile crocodiles. Once successfully crossed, they graze in the north for three months before returning to the southern calving grounds of the Serengeti. There is an additional movement within Kenya’s borders as the herd progresses in its migratory path.
