The 7-day Tanzania Safari itinerary will take you to the most famous Northern Tanzania parks, such as Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1
Arusha - Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be greeted by a private vehicle ready to transfer you to Arusha. Nestled in a lush, fertile landscape with the majestic Mount Meru as its backdrop, Arusha seamlessly blends natural beauty with vibrant urban energy. As a thriving city, it offers a perfect mix of modern charm and traditional allure, serving as a gateway to Tanzania’s rich wildlife, cultural treasures, and unforgettable adventures.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive. Famous for its massive elephant herds and rich birdlife, Tarangire also offers sightings of big cats and rare species like kudu, oryx, and gerenuk. During the dry season, the Tarangire River draws large numbers of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles. After the game drive, you’ll head to Heart & Soul Lodge, set in lush gardens, for a relaxing evening, delicious dinner, and overnight stay

Day 3
Tarangire to serengeti

After breakfast, a drive to the place the Maasai call Siringit, where the land moves on forever.’ Tanzania’s first game reserve, the Serengeti National Park, is one of the last remaining natural migration corridors and one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Its climate, vegetation, and fauna have remained mostly unchanged over the past million years. The instinct that drives the annual Great Migration of more than a million wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra is so powerful that neither drought nor crocodile-infested rivers can halt it.

Day 4
Full day in Serengeti

Today, the legendary Serengeti National Park awaits you. This vast, iconic wilderness is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras sweep across the plains in an awe-inspiring display of nature’s rhythm and resilience. As you journey through the open savannah, keep your camera close—big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam freely here, offering unforgettable wildlife encounters.

You’ll depart early in the morning for a full day of exciting game drives, setting out with a packed lunch to make the most of your time in the wild. This allows you to enjoy a meal surrounded by nature without needing to return to camp midday.

For those seeking a truly extraordinary experience, an optional sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti is available ($600 per person, not included in the package). This breathtaking flight concludes with a traditional champagne breakfast in the bush.

As the sun sets, return to your comfortable lodge or tented camp, where the sounds of the African wilderness and a sky full of stars will lull you to sleep—right in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 5
Discovering the Ngorongoro Crater

 

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will depart from the Serengeti and journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s most densely populated African wildlife areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to over 30,000 animals—including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos—the crater offers exceptional wildlife viewing in a unique and picturesque setting.

Supported by a year-round water supply and fertile grazing grounds, the crater is teeming with life. You’ll encounter herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, elands, warthogs, hippos, and the majestic African elephant. This natural enclosure is also a haven for predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.

We’ll enjoy a scenic picnic lunch on the crater floor, surrounded by the sights and sounds of this extraordinary ecosystem, before continuing our exploration.

Day 6
Lake Manyara

 

After breakfast at Heart and Soul Lodge, your day begins with a scenic drive to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the Rift Valley’s most picturesque and wildlife-rich destinations. Known for its vibrant birdlife and large mammals, Lake Manyara offers a perfect setting for a memorable safari experience. Your morning includes a game drive through the park, where the weather is typically pleasant and the landscapes are stunning.

You'll then enjoy a lakeshore nature walk, followed by a treetop canopy walk, where you may spot monkeys, birds, and other forest wildlife from a unique perspective high in the trees.

In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Moshi for your overnight accommodation, where you can relax and unwind. Get ready for your next adventure — a visit to the beautiful Materuni Waterfall the following day.

Day 7
Materuni Waterfalls

Upon arrival at Materuni Village, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the local Chaga community, renowned for its hospitality.

A Guided Walk to the Waterfalls

Gear up for a refreshing walk! The guide will lead you through vibrant coffee and banana plantations, explaining the region’s agriculture and culture. Don’t forget to ask questions along the way.

Materuni Waterfalls: A Natural Wonder

Behold the captivating Materuni Waterfalls! Surrounded by the lush forest, this 80-meter-high waterfall is a sight. You’ll have ample time to take photos, soak in the beauty, and cool off in the refreshing pool at the base of the falls.

Cultural Immersion

After visiting the falls, it’s time for a cultural immersion experience in Materuni Village.

Coffee Tour

Discover the secrets of coffee production with a tour of a local coffee farm. You’ll learn the process from bean to cup and even grind your coffee beans.

Banana Beer Tasting
